Financial Advice in Liverpool by your Wealth Wingwoman

My clients appreciate female financial advice. They come to me to get up to speed on their money - since we were never given financial education.

Some come to me after being dismissed or belittled by colleagues, ex-partners, or old advisers. Having worked in male dominated careers since I graduated, I can relate to their experiences.

I wanted to change this. I wanted to create a space for women to discuss their wealth goals. It should be welcoming, not overwhelming or exclusive. No matter where you are in your journey, you need bespoke advice.

Female Financial Adviser Liverpool

Hi! I am Shalini Kanap 👋

Hello! I am Shalini, founder of Her Financial Planning. I am a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

I am one of these strange people that like numbers, so did a degree in Economics before going on to work on a London trading floor. I moved into financial planning in 2018 as I wanted to help people, as well as use my Economics & Finance knowledge.

Since then, I have been making finances and money more accessible and empowering for women.

·I set up Her Financial Planning as the industry is male dominated and overlooked women's money journeys.

Not enough women were getting advice to build wealth, so I wanted to create a space where women feel seen, heard, and supported with their money.

Only 16% of UK financial advisers are women*

This shows a lack of diversity. This gap makes it harder for female clients to get advice from someone they can relate to. Many women feel advisers don't understand their unique finances. They need to balance family breaks and plan for a long life, in a patriarchial society.

Fewer female advisers mean fewer role models. So, finance remains male-dominated. More women in advising could foster a friendlier, more understanding atmosphere. This would empower women to manage their finances better.

Supporting female advisers is a win for everyone in the financial planning sector.
